Won 45-0

The opening league fixture of the season offered a chance to see last season’s champions Bromley take on Conference champions Greenwich at the Common. From the kick off Greenwich showed a willingness to take Bromley on upfront with a strong 15m drive.

With two new wingers on debut for Greenwich, there was a risk of unbalancing the backs. However this was quickly waived off as Stuart Winfield being put through to score after quick hands along the line.

South African born Enard then took advantage of an interception and raced 30m to score. Then, as with last week fly half Ricky Cook added to his try tally after spotting a gap in the Bromley defence to score under the posts, where he duly added the extras.

Further tries from Gavin Grant and Ray Collins put the result beyond doubt. Before replacement prop Hasan Hasan & flanker Richard Mahoney opened their Greenwich accounts with their first tries for the club.

Next week, Greenwich 1st XV look to maintain their recent good run of results when they entertain Old Olavians, while the 2nd XV travel to Kings College to begin their league season.
